“THE ANCESTRAL ANDROSCOGGIN ESKER
AND RELATED LOCAL GLACIAL FEATURES”
A slide and discussion program on how the most recent Ice Age
glacier created “kames”, “kettle holes”, “plunge-pit pot-holes”,
and the remarkable “Ancestral Androscoggin Esker”, the gravel
ridge, often called a “whale’s back”, that dots the landscape from
Aziscohos to Cumberland. Then join us for a field trip to explore
area features on Saturday, May 30th, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
